So to prove the skeptics wrong we set about designing a polyethylene boat trailer that could withstand the extremes of temperature, weight stress and salt water (rust) that normal boat trailers have to endure.

After we had spent over two years designing, building and testing a variety of poly boat trailers, we settled on the current design and established Southern Cross Poly Products, in 2002, to market the product. Our current boat trailer can carry boats of 3.6m to 5.5m and with a further development we will be carrying up to 6m in length.

Using the knowledge and experience developed from developing the boat trailer , we have now successfully developed the car box trailer with two models, 6ft 4 inches x 4ft 6 inches and 8ft x 4ft. Can you place your grass clippings in your steel trailer and keep them there for 12 months and still have a floor left in your trailer? You can with a Poly Trailer!

We intend to continue to develop a variety of products to compliment our trailers, such as an off-road trailer with an eight-foot punt boat as a removable cover and utility boxes.

In recognition of our achievement, the Queensland State Government has nominated our company for the Small Business Innovative Award.
